Világom Foundation – a safe future for our children living with autism
Through community collaboration, we are creating a protected, loving home where our young adult children with autism can find a second family. Join us and let’s build the home of the Világom Foundation together!
About us
We founded the Világom Foundation in 2023 as parents of teenage children living with autism.
As our children approached adulthood, we increasingly found ourselves asking: what comes next, once they leave public education after their vocational school years? How will they spend their everyday lives so that the many years of hard work and the resources we devoted tirelessly to their development do not go to waste?
We want our children to live their adult lives close to their families yet independently, within their own community, in a residential environment that we ourselves would accept for our own use or that of any family member. From this dream came the decision to create a supported living home that will provide a lifelong safe, family-like, loving environment for eight adults living with autism.
Our Mission: Supported Living
People living with autism are able to lead a relatively independent life only in a protected environment with continuous assistance – this is the environment we aim to create for them in the form of supported living, where all conditions for a calm, safe life and proper healthcare are ensured. As parents and professionals, we all want these young people to remain close to their families while still being able to live their own adult lives within their own community.
In addition, we are committed to creating every possible opportunity that helps them integrate into society, live as independently as possible, thrive, and receive the social recognition they deserve. We fully respect their decisions, personal freedom, and human dignity in every situation, and we strive to convey these fundamental principles to the world around them.
Where We Stand Now
In April 2025, we found the plot of land where the supported living home can be built, and barely half a year later we already had the building permit in hand. But we cannot stop here: now is when we truly need the support and unity of the community behind us. Our supported living home can come to life with your help and the selfless contributions of corporate and individual donors.
June 2023
Világom Foundation was established
In June 2023, the Világom Foundation was established through the collaboration of four families raising teenage children living with autism.
8 December 2024
Charity concert at the Liszt Academy for the Világom Foundation.
In December 2024, it felt as though half the world had come together for us. A sold-out charity concert was performed in the Great Hall of the Liszt Academy for the benefit of the Világom Foundation by Zoltán Rácz and the Amadinda Ensemble, the Amadinda Percussion Project, Zoltán Fejérvári, Gábor Presser, József Balog and Benjámin Mohácsi. The evening’s patrons were György Kurtág and Ferenc Rados.
April 2025
We found the ideal plot in Piliscsaba.
Shortly afterwards, thanks to the generous offer of the design consortium formed under the leadership of Barnabás Láris, the planning process for an eight-person supported living home began pro bono.
Summer 2025
New families.
Another four families joined us, making the number of our future residents complete.
November 2025
The plans for the Világom Home received the building permit.
The design process was completed, and our foundation received the building permit for constructing a supported living home that will provide a lifelong home and care for eight young adults living with autism.
